Job Objective:
The Line Manger is responsible for managing company resources that transform goods and services into quality products that our customers value. This includes leading, coordinating and aligning operational resources around employee safety, product quality, order delivery, cycle time, operational productivity and efficiency, and material utilization to achieve company goals and objectives within and across all shifts in the specific production lines assigned.
1st Shift: 6:45am - 2:45pm
Essential Job Functions:
* Lead and manage the daily operations of the shift supervisors, group specialist, and associates across all shifts to meet the department's objectives (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) in alignment with their Manufacturing Manager.
* Optimize the use of resources to meet internal and external customers commitments while eliminating process wastes and reducing variances.
* Coordinate with other Line Managers to streamline the manufacturing
process between cells.
* Promote and Drive Continuous improvements efforts in the department to eliminate wastes in the process and to promote safety (i.e., Lean conversion, Standard Work / SMED Kaizen events,
Scorecards, SQDIPS, Order Management, Inventory control, etc.)
* Support EHS, Planning, QA, Maintenance, HR and Engineering on various projects within the
department.
* Implement, support, and continuously optimize production capacity models against proposed
forecasts.
* Drive accountability and enforce company policies across all shifts within the department.
* Responsible for Daily Management performance on SQDIPS for their lines - Tier 1,2
* Facilitate or Lead problem solving activities, included escalation, and getting support departments involved.
* Mentors and leads associates with a hands-on approach, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and accountability
* Partner with site HRBP on maintaining an accurate labor model, support staffing requests in budgeted headcount, evaluations of employee performance and managing disciplinary actions as needed.
* Collaborate with site Training Specialist on cross training plans, training, and certification progress
* Assures that all corrective actions are implemented and followed.
* Establishes goals and objectives aimed at supporting departmental and overall company objectives.
* Manage all vacation and absence requests along with coverage plans
* Conducts Monthly communication meetings as required
* Additional duties may be assigned or required by management for the performance of this position
Minimum Required:
* A.S./A.A. in technical or managerial discipline, or 5 years in related experience, which can include product development, quality systems, or engineering.
* Computer proficiency in: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to read and interpret written instructions, to complete basic paperwork and data entry.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Strategy Deployment and LEAN principles
* Demonstrated ability to motivate, train, and develop appropriate skill sets for manufacturing supervision, manufacturing technical resources, and manufacturing production associates
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Desired:
* Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment with 2 years including process development, troubleshooting and general maintenance of machinery; or a related two-year trade school degree
* Experience with MES
* Oracle experience preferred
* Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt a plus
* CPR/First Aid certification
