Velex, Inc. is hiring a Assembly Technician in the following area(s): Fenton, MO. As an Assembly Technician, you will be part of a new team dedicated to the assembly and preparation of Telecommunication and Smart Infrastructure equipment. Assembly and preparation duties include, but are not limited to, assembling/installing brackets, RF equipment, lighting, testing, etc. What You’ll Do: Assemble and prepare equipment for use on sites in a warehouse environment Equipment preparation for telecommunication sites to include tower and small cell sites for a variety of wireless carriers according to specifications Operate commonly used hand tools efficiently The Qualities You Possess: Strong work ethic demonstrated by setting high standards of performance for self, assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks and self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail The Skills and Background You'll Bring: Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and understand operational manuals in English Able to work from manufacturing/construction drawings, final assembly blueprints, and/or verbal and written instructions with a minimal supervision Capable of performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a steady pace Must be able to follow all safety policies and procedures while contributing to and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment. An understanding of basic computer programs Must be able to pass a drug and background test Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid Driver's License Adequate vision with or without correction for verifying quality of work Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs safely and eye/hand/feet coordination sufficient to operate equipment safely Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk Must be able to crouch, kneel, and twist throughout the work day Must be able to reach, grasp and climb with both hands Flexible with shift work, to include maintenance window and weekends if needed Local to the market Good oral and written communications skills and the ability to speak, write and read English Please Note: This job description is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties or skills and due to the changing nature of the job is subject to review and change at any time, with or without notice.
