Overview
The Drupal Support Manager is a trusted member of the support team with deep experience who sets engineering standards for the department. The Drupal Support Manager is a strong communicator who excels at collaborating and conveying technical concepts to team members and clients. They have very strong technical skills and use this expertise to mentor other support developers. They work closely with the rest of the support organization to define, implement, and maintain support operating procedures for Drupal applications. They utilize advanced programming and troubleshooting techniques while meeting performance and web security standards.
As a manager, this individual will conduct regular 1/1s with staff, review billable time, help set and track performance goals, ensure our standard support procedures are being practiced, act as an advocate for their team, and provide performance reviews.
The Drupal Support Manager has a positive influence on the delivery of projects and the evolution of standards within the support organization.
Responsibilities
• Consistently stay abreast of the leading trends in the industry and integrate the best techniques, tools, and practices into Velir’s development support process• Ensure that Drupal Support developers are meeting expected productivity levels and filling expected roles and responsibilities• Develop and track career goals for Drupal developers that align with the Production Support department• Participate in interviewing candidates and hiring resources• Provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members• Document knowledge and expertise for easy access by others at Velir.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to the company systems (technology and process) to ensure that the support team is working efficiently• Contribute as an expert individual contributor on Velir projects by supporting enterprise level web applications with back end and front end development • Represent Velir in new business and agency marketing efforts, such as agency- sponsored seminars, white papers, POV pieces, etc.• Demonstrate thought leadership through active community involvement, blog posts, and other Velir marketing efforts.
Skills & Qualifications
• Extensive knowledge in all areas of development with deep knowledge in Drupal• Excellent communication skills, ability to influence without authority• Critical thinking skills to evaluate complex problems• Ability to grasp concepts quickly• Generate creative solutions• Demonstrate attention to detail• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner• Work well in group problem solving situations• Persuasive and energetic about Velir and our support offering• Cultivates a collaborative environment, promotes and demonstrates knowledge sharing throughout Velir.• Ability to maintain and foster a high level of communication and collaboration,aptitude for building consensus and compromise with approaches, and
enthusiasm for introducing new concepts and processes• Demonstrates deep interest and knowledge of application architecture, stays current with emerging technologies and methodologies.
Experience and Education:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10 years of developing complex web applications
- 2 years of people management experience
- Demonstrated experience with change management
- Experience consulting for clients and stakeholders

- Frequent sitting at a desk performing work on a computer
