Velocity Dynamics (VeloDyne), a leading manufacturer of equipment used to enhance environmental water & wastewater treatment, is seeking a Service Technician with an interest in the environmental field.

JOB SUMMARY:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and schedule field service visits with potential of traveling 60% of the time.
- Complete and maintain field service expense reports.
- Follow up on warranty status with customers and manufacturers of devices.
- Report product deficiencies to Company management.
- Maintain demo / prototype systems at customer locations as required.
- Read and interpret P&ID and electrical schematics.
- Perform quality assurance and work with Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to meet critical shipping schedules.
- Layout and wiring of industrial control panels (back panels and doors).
- Interconnecting industrial control panels with skid mounted equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose failures, test control systems and execute repairs in-factory or at customer site.
- Troubleshoot and repair fluid handling systems (experience with fittings, tube bending, leak detection, etc.).
- Communicate with customers about system status and schedule maintenance.
- Document problems and issues together with diagnostics procedures and problem resolution.
- Travel for equipment start-ups and other field service as needed.
- Over-the-phone trouble shooting and customer service.
- Maintain a clean and efficient shop & production area.
- Perform the responsibilities of mechanical assembler as needed.
- Work with the Service and Production Manager(s) to make sure expanded items are maintained at proper levels to meet project-specific and service / maintenance goals.
- Assists Engineering Department with problem solving and testing for product issue resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- HS/GED; Associates degree in mechanical or electrical technology (or applicable field) preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience servicing complex equipment, particularly in production of industrial control panels and instrumentation; mechanically inclined.
- Experience in production of mechanical, plumbing components, drilling measurement skills; learns quickly.
- High level safety and health awareness.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be available to travel on a daily basis.
- Clear and concise oral and written English language communication skills required, including proper grammar and e-mail etiquette.
- Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Ability to work under high pressure conditions and to successfully handle stressful situations efficiently, professionally and effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make timely and sound decisions.

Position Working Environment:
Manufacturing environment. Frequent exposure to environments containing dust, machine noise, and welding equipment. Frequent standing, walking, and lifting loads under 50 pounds.
