Job DutiesPerforms body restoration for trucksPerforms work on rear and front axelsReplaces transmission, radiators and compressorsReplaces starter, frame rails, fifth wheel and roofPerforms electrical work on trucksPerforms body restoration of damaged truckPerforms paint jobs when neededNotifies Manager of any additional repairs neededNotifies Manager of any difficulties or problems that may prevent quality job from being performed or cause a change in promised timeMaintains tools and equipment in proper state of repairOperates all tools and equipment in a safe mannerMaintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipmentComplies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint and other hazardous materialsCooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of trucksComplies with all federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations Skills and QualificationsMore than three (3) years’ experience as body shop technician is preferred but not necessaryFreightliner Heavy Duty Trucks SystemsProfessional CertificationFreightliner Electrical TroubleshootingSpecialist CertificationAbility to use wide range of tools and equipment to assess and repair trucksFree range of motion in their hands and arms to work with small parts and small spacesAttention to detailCustomer service skillsCritical thinking skills to assess damage and determine how to make repairs CompensationHourly plus productivity and efficiency bonus This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position, and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
