Position Summary: The Compensation/Commissions Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Regional Vice President of Accounting, Commissions Manager and Senior Accountant and play an important role in the monthly commissions processing function within the Accounting division of a growing financial company. This position will work the comprehensive "end to end” processing of commission plans and sales incentive payment calculations for all commissionable positions worldwide. This position will collaborate with Accounting, HR, and sales/services leadership to ensure good communication and agreeable solutions to issues. Ideal candidate must de detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and will be comfortable with change and growth of the business. This person is responsible to perform the below functions for Vensure, inc. as well as companies that are contracted with Vensure, inc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Commissions Accountant will participate in the following functions:
- Respond to commissions' related inquiries in a timely, diplomatic and professional manner.
- Create and/or update SOP's related to the commissions function.
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and transactional reviews.
- Assist with preparation of monthly journal entries for 25 divisions (accruals and payments) and support any responses for audits.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, managers, and sales leaders to address questions regarding compensation plans, perform research as needed to help resolve issues, and develop appropriate solutions to resolve exception payment requirements.
- Ensure monthly analysis of flux (variance analysis) in commissions accounts and respond to ad-hoc reporting needs.
- Perform other job-related and management duties as directed by supervisor.

Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, in compensation or commissions, preferably in a multitask state organization.
- Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication in individual or group situations, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, task oriented, good interpersonal skills, patience, perseverance, and follow through skills.
- Experience with multi-company / divisional financials highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; strict attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, and E-mail. Sage Intacct & Prism HRP experience is a plus.
- A high standard of integrity and sound business ethics.
- Ability to work effectively with other internal and external departments.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
