What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Corporate Risk position at Ventas Inc?
Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Corporate Risk, the Manager of Corporate Risk plays a key role in helping Ventas identify and manage risk by working closely with internal and external stakeholders and vendors. The Manager will focus on enterprise-wide risk and coverage, including general liability, environmental, builders risk, workers’ compensation, property, and professional liability. Responsibilities: Assist and/or pursue claims under first party property insurance and related subrogation claims Respond to internal insurance coverage inquiries Manage communications between property insurers, insurance brokers, internal colleagues and third party business partners relating to insurer review of plans and specifications for development, re-development, tenant improvement and all other construction-related activity Review, analyze and provide advice on contractual risk of loss terms and contractual insurance requirements Work with captive manager and insurance broker to manage and evaluate captive risk programs Review and analyze policy language for all insurance lines Assist with insurance due diligence for corporate development activities Work with insurance brokers, actuaries and colleagues to analyze and quantify insurable risk Provide internal and external training on company’s risk appetite, approved insurance requirements, notice requirements and all other insurable risk policies and procedures Monitor and analyze insurance-related litigation and ensure proper notice is given to insurers for Workers’ Compensation, Professional General Liability, Auto Liability and Physical Damage, Property, Crime and Employment Practices Liability claims Manage risk analysts responsible for reconciling premium invoices to proposals, gathering and reporting exposure information and loss experience, issuing automobile identification cards, posting workers’ compensation notices, and OSHA reporting Partner with colleagues and business partners to monitor and evaluate internal and external safety and loss control processes including loss prevention, employee safety and facility security Assist Director of Corporate Risk with procurement of all insurance coverage, budget allocations, policy audits, corporate development due diligence, insured claims management, establishment of risk management processes and development of entire insurance risk management program Requirements: Experience using Risk Management claim systems to access data and run various reports tailored to internal and external requests for information Experience working at a law firm, insurance broker/company or risk management department required Bachelor’s degree required, J.D. preferred Ventas, Inc. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package to the successful candidate.
