Release Train Engineer

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Ventech Solutions is seeking a Release Train Engineer to run a single ART with three Agile teams.

The Release Train Engineer facilitates the ARTs progress towards goals, facilitates the removal of impediments and facilitates team events to ensure they are productive and meet iteration and PI goals and objectives

The Release Train Engineer owns preparation and readiness for ART/program events and coordinates with other teams to continuously improve communications, cooperation, and relationships.

The Release Train Engineer also drives needed coordination with other teams/scrum masters, both within the portfolio, and partnering with other organizations to deliver and implement ART solutions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Independently lead PI Planning events
• Perform all tasks and activities needed to prepare and facilitate the PI Planning event
• Prepare PI Planning Presentations with input from Product Manager/Product Owner, Architects and teams.
• Prepare Inspect and Adapt Planning Presentation Deck
• Lead PO Sync meetings and ensure artifacts are maintained and kept current
• Help team develop SMART Objectives
• Manage Program Board and dependencies
• Manage, track and create cross team and ART dependencies and the program board
• Prepare ART Level Metrics and ART Level Reporting
• Lead Problem Solving Workshops
• Help conduct Sprint and/or System Demos
• Conduct Feature Refinement sessions
• Help Prepare Monthly Accomplishments for ART progress
• Agile Coaching for team as required
• Provide assistance with CMMI/Other Company Audits as required.
• Backup for Scrum Masters during absences for activities such as the Daily Standup, Conduct Backlog Refinement, Retrospective, Scrum of Scrums representation etc.
• Represent Management in Solution level sync meetings
• Facilitate ART progress towards train goals, removes impediments, and facilitates team events and ensures they are productive and iteration goals are met.
• Perform project delivery related assignments as needed/assigned by manager

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS degree in related field of study with a minimum of 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of certifications, experience and/or education.
• High energy, hungry for information, desire to set high standards for self and for the team
• Extremely strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Extremely strong questioning skills - ability to think both for self and the team, outside the box
• Ability to generate well developed executive ready PowerPoint presentations at Manager's requests

• Proficient/Expert level in use of Jira a must. Confluence skills a must.

• SAFe RTE certification required.
• One or more of the following certifications desired: Leading SAFe, SAFe Advanced Scrummaster, PMP, SAFe SPC.

• Proactive engagement and communications with the team on a day-to-day basis and responding to customer issues
• Software Engineering background is desired
• Basic working knowledge of AWS Cloud environments is desired.
• Proactive versus reactive culture
• Ensure Release Communication regarding upcoming outages (e.g outage notifications).

This position is an individual contributor and has no supervisory responsibilities. Provides functional expertise through day-to-day work tasks. Works under the supervision of management.
