Venteon is currently seeking a Operations Controller to fill an opening with a reputable, well-established, industry-leading, multi-national manufacturing company located in Novi, Michigan.
Requirements of the Operations Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 10 years of manufacturing accounting experience
- Supervisory experience
- Good understanding of financial (ERP) systems
- Experienced with inventory costing, job costing or percentage of completion accounting.
- CMA or CPA strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills
- Conceptual knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and Cost Accounting
- Must be willing to travel (domestic) up to 25%.

Responsibilities of the Operations Controller
- Complete accurate and timely closing of month end financial statements along with all supporting documentation and explanations.
- Develop financial target metrics/KPIs as part of plant leadership team.
- Ensure adequate internal controls exist to safeguard assets and assure accuracy of financials.
- Input of financial and accounting transactions into the ERP system
- Maintain accurate bill of materials content and pricing in ERP.
- Analyze actual vs. budget variances based and or requests from upper management.
- Manage process of validating billings and reconciliation of general ledger to detail.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP
- Lead physical inventory count with plant production control.
- Provide support for monthly and year-end closings, with primary responsibility for updating all forecasts.
