Job description
This individual will work collaboratively with senior leadership to develop, manage, and implement HR policies and programs that support all business practices. Areas of responsibilities include recruitment, retention, benefits administration, training & development, salary administration, performance management, succession planning, employee safety programs, and employee relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct recruitment efforts
- Write and place advertisements
- Screen and interview candidates
- Compose and distribute offer letters
- Conduct new hire orientations
- Developing and writing job descriptions
- Coordinate benefit plans
- Coordinate insurance open enrollment process
- Miscellaneous administrative tasks related to benefit plans
- FMLA Coordination clients
- Manage unemployment process
- Manage employee relations
- Make recommendations in implementing Human Resources policies and procedures
- Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation
- Work directly with managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
- Assure timely completion of annual performance evaluations
- Assure timely completion of 30-60-90-day evaluations
- Quarterly bonus eligibility determination
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation, and insure compliance
- Maintain compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to HR
- Communicate changes in personnel policies and procedures and insure proper compliance is followed
- Occasionally recommend, evaluate, and participate in Staff Development
- Maintain employee files clients and assure completeness
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Business or Human Resources Management or related field; comparable field experience will be considered
- 5 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Experience recruiting in high volume
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite Applications
- Knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and procedures
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail; ability to work independently and under pressure; ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues; and ability to resolve conflict is important
