Role Description: The Continuous Improvement leader is responsible for driving a culture of sustainable, continuous improvement, operational excellence, and delivering on business goals and objectives within the Venture Transportation Partners shared services group and accompanying business units. These initiatives can be achieved using various Lean techniques and methodologies such as Value Stream mapping, Kaizen, and Toyota Production Systems (TPS) enterprise wide.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide detailed instruction, guidance and execution on corporate Lean initiatives
Develop and implement a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) strategy including the identification of improvement opportunities, coaching and training employees/management on LSS tools and to support operational KPI’s.
Apply Lean Six Sigma Tools to complete projects with savings in mind.
Applies Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) thinking in support of the business unit's strategic goals
Deliver LSS Tool training (including Modular Training) and deliver Belt project mentoring towards Certification
Steer goal deployment process and identify opportunities for improvements
Individual will act as the company specialist regarding all relevant data sources, statistical analysis approaches, and will be the primary coach for management teams
Assist all teams with goal-setting and tracking for Continuous Improvement measures within the organization
Choose and apply appropriate Continuous Improvement tools in a way that will improve efficiency and process reliability
Ensure sustainability of improvements by creating control plans
Participate in all relevant aspects of operations project initiatives and capital project initiatives
Establish, communicate and reinforce best practices agreed upon within the operations groups and shared services
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineering / Technical degree or Business degree with technical interest/understanding Experience in Transportation, Logistics or supply chain is highly preferred
Certified Six Sigma Green Belt with proven working knowledge of Lean Tools
Deep experience in project management and completing projects on time and on budget
Must be open to relocation
Self-motivated and passionate about continuous improvement
Hands-on experience in applying LSS tools
Ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to motivate and develop others
Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab
