About The Role

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the achievement of the sales and profit objectives for their assigned territory/industry. Works closely with the Branch Manager and Inside Sales group in establishing the territory sales targets to maximize sales targets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and grows BPS outside sales for an assigned area/specialty/industry.
  • Constantly works to build relationships and good will for the company within the industry.
  • Works with Branch Manager to develop outside sales plan for assigned area.
  • Tracks and reports weekly on outside sales activities.
  • Aware and tracks competitive/market intelligence for outside sales for assigned territory/industry.
  • Develops and manages quotes for outside sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for making and tracking sales calls, developing and maintaining sales territory.
  • Actively promotes new and existing products and services to add value to the customer and sales process.
  • Communicates with Branch Manager on progress against monthly sales and profit targets.
  • Works with Inside Sales team on customer growth and conversion.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of outside sales experience as a sales leader in the pipe, value and fittings or a related industry.
  • Proven experience building an outside sales territory and achieving and exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience utilizing and maximizing account management activities.
  • Ability to interface with all teammates and departments within BPS.
  • Self motivated work style that doesn’t require a lot of oversight to exceed targets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) with ability to create strong relationships.
  • Prior experience with a CRM system a plus.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Driving required.
  • Ability to pass background screening as required.
