The Applications Business Analyst is responsible for engaging with colleagues across Venus Fashion Inc. to capture, analyze and document requirements for Business and IT requests and projects. The Applications Business Analyst will work closely with the Project Manager, Applications Product Manager and the wider business to ensure that the requirements are understood, agreed, and will form the basis of execution.
Job Duties
- Work with business subject matter experts and technical teams to gather project needs and translate them into functional and technical documentation.
- Act as a general liaison between business and technical teams.
- Work with business users and applications teams to analyze and triage defects.
- Support, maintain, and enhance (as required) all the applications within the scope of the Application Services team by predicting, preventing, and/or identifying issues.
- Organize business workshops to identify pain points, gather requirements etc.
- Optimize the need for customization by understanding business requirements and applying application domain expertise to solve problems.
- Analyze the impact of a change/project across multiple systems and follow appropriate Change Control measures.
- Assist the team in management of project/change request expectations, deadlines and schedules with stakeholders.
- Support and identify training needs and coordinate stakeholder training sessions on the applications.
- Assist in the training of new users for the solution, and the creation of training material.
- Lead the creation of test plans and test scenarios.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing with users.
- Lead agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning meetings, demos, and retrospectives.
- Assist/manage system updates and releases across environments for new features and functionality.
- Work with infrastructure team to ensure production applications and production processes run efficiently.
- Communicate with technical and non-technical users: cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, developers, and external partners.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in product management and SDLC.
- 2 years of experience working directly with end-users and vendors.
- Experience working on projects in both Agile and Waterfall methodology
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, and/or other collaboration software systems.
- Ability to gain trust of others and build solid relationships across the organization.
- Possess and demonstrate strong logic and critical problem-solving skills with the ability to transform abstract business rules into functional processes.
- Ability to multi-task and reprioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Capacity to manage and thrive in highly stressful situations.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, people and diplomacy skills.
- Highly organized, process focused, with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
