Job Description
Position Purpose:
The position of Senior Business Developer will develop and close leads through a complex development process. Position reports to the COO of SourceOne.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead origination of project opportunities, conduct opportunity screening, develop solution scope, approach, and pricing, and submit turnkey energy offers to clients and/or channel partners.
- Develop and manage teaming agreements with strategic partners to improve our pipeline and strengthen our commercial offers. Support participation in industry organizations.
- Guide and manage development teams of technical, operations, structuring, project management, finance and legal disciplines.
- Collaborate with prospects through a solutions development process. Build understanding of customer needs, challenges, and the associated value of FBS core capabilities and services.
- Leverage energy incentives as available, with support of subject matter experts within FBS.
- Differentiate FBS competitively by leveraging core competencies.
- Manage due diligence efforts, executed by technical and operations specialists.
- Guide finance team in the development of financial models. Manage return of service fees on mobilization costs and capital investment.
- Manage the company's internal risk process, including risk reviews, development of approaches to mitigate risk, and gated development steps to manage development and opportunity cost.
- Develop firm binding offers either on a sole sourced basis or in response to a formal procurement process.
- Work with legal teams and senior management in preparation of agreements and contract negotiation.
- Bring qualified opportunities to financial close.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, MBA preferred.
- Proficiency in consultative and solutions development processes, and interpersonal, verbal, persuasive, presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders at the site based operations, corporate engineering, project management, sourcing, and executive levels.
- Ability to review, comprehend and negotiate complex legal contracts (with Attorney support).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Background in industrial scale data centers.
- With specific knowledge in commissioning, construction, design, operations and maintenance.
