Job Description:
- The work scope of this position will require the candidate to be willing to possibly travel occasionally outside of the designated area of responsibility and other surrounding states; if needed.
- This is a full-time position with consideration for part-time for the right fit candidate.
- This is a Technical Subcontract Management (TSM) field support position.
- The TSM will be responsible for providing onsite support at major system and airframe suppliers primarily located in/around Oklahoma
- The primary work scope for this position must reside within the state of Oklahoma with occasional travel to other surrounding areas/states as needed.
- Approximately 90% of the TSMs time will be spent onsite at a customer’s supplier facility.
A TSM is a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team that the customer uses to minimize disruptions to the supply chain by providing “in the field” oversight of supplier execution. As a project manager overseeing multiple customer Suppliers, daily activities will include working with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing, validating the status of the deliverable parts and providing detailed status to customer procurement, preparing plans to reduce/prevent shortages, identifying risks in the supply chain, and developing risk mitigation plans to minimize the potential impact to the customer.
Candidates should fully understand the production processes as they relate to aircraft systems components and avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing. The candidate should be a self-starter that is capable of analyzing supplier processes and developing improvement plans in collaboration with personnel from both the supplier and the customer. The candidate will regularly collaborate across multiple functions (within customer and at the supplier facility), including production, procurement, quality, and engineering, to expedite parts/assemblies that are required to support each of the customer Lines of Business (LOB).
The success of the person in this position will greatly depend on his/her ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supplier personnel at varying levels of an organization. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Candidate must have 5 years experience as a Technical Subcontract Manager
- Candidate must have 5 years of Supply Chain Management
- Candidate must have 3 years of the Aircraft Production Process encompassing all areas of the Customer’s Lines of Business
- Candidate must live within 150 miles of West Palm Beach to support west palm, Melbourne and Miami.
- Candidate must be open to local travel and occasionally to neighboring locations
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
