Job Description

• Actively participate in monthly closing process, including expense and balance sheet account analysis pertaining to owned areas
• Create and record monthly and ad-hoc journal entries into the PeopleSoft accounting system
• Assist in financial analysis and ad-hoc projects, as needed
• Ownership of annual performance objectives and keep abreast of updates in U.S. GAAP for owned areas
• Analyzing and reconciling certain Verisk and subsidiary general ledger accounts.
• Analyze current month prepaid accounts and research for terms and GL account.
• Scrub main prepaid account weekly.
• Perform corporate accounting related functions for Verisk. 
• Perform accounting related functions for subsidiaries of Verisk.
• Assist in quarterly and annual audit requests and financial reporting
• Clearing reconciling items related to Cash and Accounts Receivable reconciliations.
• Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel-extensive knowledge of Pivot Table / Chart, Macros, etc.)
• Excellent communication / documentation skills (oral and written)
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and set priorities
• Detail oriented, meticulous and extremely diligent
• Excellent client service, team work and diplomacy skills
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and/or large accounting system a plus
