Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is excited to announce we are looking for Full time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians, or experienced Veterinary Technicians, to join our brand-new Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation department.
About GSVS: We are a multispecialty practice with boarded veterinary specialists in Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Rehabilitation, and Ophthalmology. We have also been treating felines with hyperthyroid disease with radioactive iodine since 2001! We are also proud to have two technicians here at GSVS with their VTS’s in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

GSVS Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation department provides both rehabilitative and integrative care to help patients recovering from surgical procedures and soft tissue injuries and facilitates palliative care for both geriatric patients and patients with degenerative or debilitating diseases. We perform diagnostic imaging with US, MRI, and CT, and we offer acupuncture, nutritional counseling, custom assistive devices, such as carts, and pain management. In addition, we believe in comprehensive rehabilitation in the form of therapeutic exercises and the following physical modalities:
- Laser
- Heat/Cold therapy
- Extracorporeal shockwave
- Ultrasound/Electrical Stimulation
- Manual therapy: massage, joint mobilization, myofascial release
- Hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill)
- Electrical stimulation
Veterinary Technicians at in GSVS can expect to do the following as a Veterinary Technician in the Rehab department:
- Assist with musculoskeletal ultrasounds, CT, and MRI
- Help fit patients with assistive devices such as orthotics and carts
- Fear-free restraint of patients for acupuncture and other procedures
- Calculate and administer CRI medications
- Venipuncture and IVC placement
- Manage anesthesia for procedures
- Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
- Providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and be a strong patient advocate during the patient's treatment
About you:
- Minimum of 2 years as a Veterinary Technician
- Proficient in anesthetic monitoring and understanding
- Certification in rehabilitation with CRI, CCRP, or other Chi Institute highly desired and justly compensated
- Comfortable bending and lifting as many patients are not mobile
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are a must
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
Schedule:
- Sunday- Thursday, with eventual move to 4-day work week
