Job Summary and Scope:
This position is responsible for driving brand awareness and customer engagement for Print and Publishing. This includes creating and managing our private brand collateral, planning and executing marketing campaigns, continuing Veritiv’s thought leadership position, and finding ways to improve the customer experience. This role collaborates across the organization to facilitate and ensure that strategic projects are fully developed and executed on schedule and on budget. This person will drive the development of internal technology, ad-hoc reporting, and sales processes for key initiatives within the given segment. Supports Category Management in the negotiation of Core Supplier agreements where necessary. Facilitates problem solving sessions and serves as a resource on analytical techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of segment marketing, strategy, and communication initiatives for given segment:
- In-depth understanding and knowledge of the end user ecosystem for assigned segment including customers, sub-applications and markets, and trends
- Creates and maintains best in class private brand marketing collateral
- Becomes the key Voice of Customer expert for respective end use segment and own market research
- Provide insights for new product introductions
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Commercial Print and Corporate Communications unmet needs within the end user segment
- Adapt marketing communications to specific end users
- Subject matter expert to sales
- Responsible for marketing budget
- Liason with suppliers’ end use segment subject matter experts
- Drive end-user segment pipeline based on target markets identified in market game plans
- Works with senior management sponsors to develop project charters and business cases in functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Category Management, and Strategy
- Drive for Results – builds and delivers sales tools for greater sales force effectiveness
- Focus on the financial metrics that will drive enhanced financial returns
- Manages the rebate capture and budget tracking for Category Management
- Develops internal technology and reporting systems used to monitor and manage performance.
- Provide Coaching and Training on process improvement techniques
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
- 4 year degree, required with major in business or marketing, preferred
- 7 years of experience in B2B sales and marketing with preferred background in Paper, Print, or Publishing end use segments
- Strong business acumen with distribution business knowledge preferred
- Self-starter, detail oriented, organized, works with a sense of urgency, high degree of accuracy, can manage and prioritize workload, and multi-task
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on improving al touchpoints of the customer experience
- Strong communications skills - Candidate must be able to effectively present data in a user-friendly format, influence key stakeholders, and facilitate meetings
- Builds constructive and results orientated relationships internally and externally that become enablers of the growth strategy
- Strong presentation skills, ability to combine multiple sources of data into a concise, digestible, end customer focused format.
- Technical acumen – PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce.com, Smartsheet, SEO, Marketo.
