What you’ll be doing...
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a diverse pipeline of qualified, certified diverse suppliers aligned with business needs across the enterprise in partnership with business champions, stakeholders and strategic sourcing. Provide subject matter expertise of Verizon’s supplier diversity program in alignment with the overall diversity, equity and inclusion strategies. Work directly with strategic community partners on making valuable business connections with diverse businesses.
- Establish, engage and maintain partnerships and collaborate with business champions and stakeholders to achieve supplier diversity targets and inclusion goals.
- Engage and provide opportunities for diverse businesses, through matchmaking sessions and other initiatives with community partners.
- Supplier/Customer Management – Effectively manage business relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Establish and communicate Supplier Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion objectives and strategies through establishment of standard operating procedures, presentations, supplier diversity learning and awareness training, reporting, responding to reputational surveys, participating in next best practices sessions with community partners, suppliers and other corporations.
- Prepare, negotiate, and execute supplier diversity reporting requirements in procurement and customer RFPs and contracts successfully with sourcing, suppliers and business stakeholders.
- Contracts Review – Evaluate, interpret and improve the language used in agreements.
- Process information with high levels of business acumen; formulate and assess data.
- Effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
This position can be located in other valid Verizon corporate office domestic locations.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Willingness to travel.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Diversity equity and inclusion certification.
- Excellent Analytical skills.
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Prior experience with purchase orders, approving orders and customer contracts.
- Prior experience with sourcing and working with suppliers.
- Prior experience with negotiation and contracts.
