What you’ll be doing...
As the Product Dev/Mgmt-Sr Mgr you'll leverage your product strategy background and business development acumen for the Verizon Business Device Services team. The role’s mission is to work closely with our respective device OEMs and stakeholders to align business objectives of our OEMs with Verizon’s direction and deliver on results. You’ll work with partners to launch solutions that continue to exceed Verizon’s high-quality benchmarks, lead both internal and external teams to derive funding needed to deliver on these projects and own the OEM relationship. The OEM leader will possess a blend of business and technical expertise, can see the big picture, and has the confidence to make the vision into reality.
Your work will help maintain Verizon’s leadership position by anticipating business customer needs and shaping our future offerings to meet them. Your vision and leadership will help us realize what’s next for Verizon. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Working closely with the device OEMs to find mutually beneficial areas for collaboration.
Strategize with cross-functional stakeholders to align on business needs and opportunities.
Help to organize quarterly business reviews and periodical meetings to review OEM sales metrics and areas for improvement.
Work closely with vendors to manage schedules across multiple teams, and collaborate with respective Marketing peers to drive awareness and socialization of products.
Provide front line feedback and communicate device pros/cons to various OEMs across multiple product lines (FWA as well as Accessories etc).
Review device COGS and pricing strategy to maximize Verizon sales and meet annual CV and sales metrics driving subsidy avoidance for VBG
Gain an in-depth understanding of business customers and use cases, gathering key insights that will shape the product experience.
Refine product concepts derived from existing customer pain points into valuable products or services.
Work closely with product marketers and engineers to define and drive product vision and distill a very strategic product roadmap.
Partner with the engineering and IT organizations on product development to deliver products that are fit for purpose and desirable in the market.
Collaborate with the sales organization on product targets and enablement needs.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience in product management, product development, portfolio strategy, or related field.
Three or more years in the wireless/telecommunications or related field.
Device experience specifically with purpose-built solutions (e.g. Routers / CPEs / Modems /smartphones / etc).
Even better if you have:
A Master’s degree or MBA.
Ability to translate market knowledge and tactical strategy into compelling use cases.
Deep data and analytic expertise for evidence-based decision-making.
Technical skills with the ability to understand and effectively communicate technical information to executives.
Experience with product launches and developing product roadmaps.
Strong communication, presentation, decision making and negotiation skills.
Passion about learning about new wireless products, devices and software technology and application trends.
Experience with building cross-functional relationships in a fast paced, demanding environment.
