IT Project Manager

What you’ll be doing...

You will be responsible for IT project and program management support for the Technology organization supporting Verizon Business Group. You will use your expertise to solve complex problems and find unique solutions to execute groundbreaking products & services for all business segments.

• Lead agile team, managing business requirements and client expectations.
• Focused and determined to lead and manage teams to achieve quantifiable (measurable) results.
• Track activities and monitors the progress of the project within the team and to a larger audience, which includes business and IT executives.
• Manage user stories, set goals, and facilitate sprint and release planning, milestones across multiple teams.
• Understand complexities of a large program and provide guidance for the development teams.
• Interact with product managers and other organizational units such as QA, operations, and external IT partners.
• Negotiate scope, schedule with external IT and business partners.
• Establish common goals across multiple teams, and define useful metrics and reporting to track team performance.
• Lead teams of engineers through the completion of all phases of the project. Lead the core team in an agile methodology to develop working software frequently to production.
• Provide the best user experience for the customers.
• Continuous attention to technical excellence and good design.
• Provide feedback and assessment following initial project completion.
• Understand and translate business strategy.
• Ensure a clear package/definition of work via roadmap, functions, features and ready for development.
• Create focused forum cadence for program health.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in project management in an Agile environment.
• Experience withall aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle including Agile Methodologies and DevSecOps processes

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of Management.
• Seven or more years of experience with direct management experience.
• Five or more years of program management experience or functioning as a lead in Information Technology.
• PMP or ITIL Foundation certification.
• One or more years of project management in an agile environment.
• Experience with technology delivery and experience working in a technology organization delivering large scale projects with managing multiple vendors for delivery and implementation.
• Ability to work with a wide range of teams to deliver a product or service to production.
• Ability to work with offshore development and testing support teams, manage, track and resolve issues associated to their projects.
• Ability to multi-task, organize assigned tasks in a high paced environment and concurrently monitor tasks / assignments with others that may impact timely completion.
• Ability to excels at meeting schedules and timelines.
• Ability to work with tight schedules, identify critical issues and escalate to leadership when appropriate.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture and hosting providers.
• Skills with writing well-formulated emails, notifications, reports and verbal communication skills and executive presentation skills.
• Detail oriented, with ability to complete reporting and analytics accurately, timely, and in a presentable manner.
• Self-motivated, going beyond immediate responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as be a team player.
