As the Technical Product Owner - Security Gatewayworking on the Verizon MTIPS product offering, you will be responsible for the team that designs, implements, and tests all aspects of one of our most important assets: Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS). You will interact with many internal and external teams and partners, collaborate on solutions to solve complex problems, and ensure platforms remain ready to create the solutions our Public Sector customers count on.
The Technical Product Owner - Security Gatewayis responsible for the Verizon MTIPS Product design and development team who is responsible for delivering the end to end service of MTIPS. Will work closely with Product Management, Operations, Facilities, Compliance, and external contractors for the delivery of the service. Direct reports will own individual aspects of the service including network architecture, security architecture, software architecture, capacity and health monitoring, and the MTIPS lab.
The Technical Product Owner - Security Gatewaywill be responsible for delivering on the product roadmap and working closely with product manager to design solutions identified in the product roadmap balancing time to market and budgetary constraints.
Candidates must have a thorough understanding of network routing programs, cloud and virtualization architectures and security engineering principles, frameworks and architectures. The individuals must have experience in configuring network and security equipment, the implementation of security policy, and integration of the service to the Verizon Unified Security Portal and the Verizon Managed Security Service – Analytics offering.
The individual will ultimately be responsible for identifying hardware, software and tools requirements needed including the creation of a bill of materials and associated budget.
The candidate should have an understanding of Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS) and Trusted Internet Connections (TIC 3.0) program requirements, market competition, and associated compliance validation process (gsa.gov/tic).
The candidate should have a strong understanding of network and security protocols and concepts include IP routing, BGP, VLAN, authentication, access control, audit, configuration management, patch management, vulnerability management and asset management. The individual should have a strong background working with IPSec, SSL, PKI, key management, Physical Security, Network Security, Correlation Tools, Vulnerability Scanning Tools and Information Assurance.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Ability to pass a Public Trust Security Clearance.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or 6+ years of relevant industry work experience
Candidates for this position should have at least 7 years of direct relevant network engineering security design or operational experience.
Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification and relevant Cisco, Splunk, Arcsight, FireEye, A10, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Gigamon, McAfee, Tripwire or other certifications.
Experience with structured fiber and copper cabling, cable termination, cable management, and adherence to guidelines for maintaining clean cable runs
Experience in the architecture and delivery of a Cloud based service meeting performance and reliability SLAs
Experience with managing inventory, asset tracking, shipping and receiving records, purchasing information, etc.
Experience with racking and stacking new equipment and ensuring environmental, electrical, and facility requirements are met
Extensive experience in fault isolation, repair and resolution, and documenting root cause analysis (RCA) for reported trouble tickets
Engineering experience across a plethora of vendors and associated technologies which could include: routing, switching, security, WAN optimization, Wi-Fi, and 4G/5G cellular
Knowledge of public and private cloud, virtualization, orchestration, and managed services
Experience supporting end users to facilitate new builds, moves/adds/changes, user account administration, and enhancements to user experience
Experience maintaining lab infrastructure including: user databases, software repositories, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, and associated applications
Experience leading small interorganizational teams toward a common goal
Experience across a range of industries which could include: Finance, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Public Sector, Small Business, etc.
.Experience in next-generation technologies including: Zero Trust, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Multicloud, and/or Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC), particularly in a Managed Services (MSP) or Telecommunications/Service Provider setting.
The candidate must be self-motivated, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
