We are looking for a high performing Manufacturing Manager in our Columbus, IN location. This is a highly visible position with responsibility to provide results driven leadership to the Manufacturing Department. This position is responsible for the safe production of quality products delivered on time, efficiently, within budget, and to the customer's specification. Key areas of accountability include planning, budgeting, resource management, training, LEAN manufacturing, quality, safety and continued improvement of responsible areas.
What You Will Do:
- Oversees daily manufacturing operations. Responds to and resolves problems.
- Ensures that the production floor is properly supervised, staffed and trained to meet the current production need.
- Coordinates, plans, and directs all the activities that go into the production process.
- Maintains effective communications with other departments to get the product to the customer on time.
- Promotes continuous improvements in all areas of responsibilities to improve manufacturing performances.
- Delivers all internal commitments and performance targets.
- Responsible for manufacturing quality, safety and environmental processes and metrics.
- Prepares, evaluates, and monitors the department's budget, forecasts, and metrics (KPI's).
- Plans and coordinates work, trains, motivates, records, and disciplines all supervised employees.
- Ensure that needed sorting of nonconforming product made is effectively handled and made
- Maintains a clean work environment.
- Reviews and ensures accurate production, safety, quality, financial, and other needs data are reported.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years' experience working as a manufacturing manager in the automotive industry who understands and adheres to a professional standard.
- Extensive knowledge of the functions and department processes.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish required.
- Automotive or Aerospace quality management systems experience preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles and procedures.
- Must have a working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvements, and basic automated machinery.
- Must have experience with ISO9001 and quality management system.
- Must be able to multi-task multiple projects simultaneously, under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Results oriented, conflict resolution, problem solving, and effective communication skills are important.
- Leadership and motivation skills are important.
