We are looking for a high performing professional to be our R& D Engineering Manager. This position will be responsible for new product development and new business within the automotive, aerospace, and industrial fields for the Vernet US operations. The team leader will have responsibility to lead product engineers, drafters, and lab staff with responsibility for technical analysis, quotations, design functions, applications engineering, product development, design validation, and prototyping for products intended for mass production.
What You Will Do:
- Ensure that areas of responsibility are on task to complete projects by given deadlines.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments on project timelines.
- Reviews and assigns Engineering projects.
- Approves new and changed product designs.
- Assists in product development.
- Ensures that the Technical Services lab prioritizes, tracks, and facilitates the completion of all lab work orders and engineering projects in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
- Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
- Annually prepares the department budget.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and yearly evaluates performance, counsels, records and disciplines all supervised employees. Ensure that all team members receive training hours consistent with the company’s goal each year. Able to hire and terminate or make recommendations to hire/term subordinates.

- Bachelor’s Degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience working as an engineering manager
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Knowledge engineering principles and procedures
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, CAD, and print reading
- Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal, written, and listening skills
- Must be detail oriented, and a self-motivator
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
