Vernon Public Schools is seeking a qualified individual to join our staff and help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment in our building. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, an awareness of potential challenges to student welfare and school safety, and a commitment to serving as an active member of a team.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
monitor students during lunch waves to maintain a positive, safe environment
model and promote appropriate behaviors for students
deescalate students when conflicts arise to maintain safety
establish and maintain rapport with students to build positive school culture
prevent students from leaving the cafeteria without permission
sign passes for students that have a legitimate purpose for leaving the cafeteria
remind students to clear tables appropriately
sanitize cafeteria tables in between lunch waves
report concerns and/or severe inappropriate behaviors to security, faculty and/or administration as necessary
High School Diploma required.
Two years of college credit, or associate's degree preferred
