JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to provide nursing services, nursing procedures, patient education, clinical administration when directed, and to ensure medical supplies are available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and their families and care providers.
· Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends and families.
· Resolve patient problems and needs.
· Maintains safe and clean work environment.
· Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedures, medication administration and storage.
· Maintains continuity of care by documentation and communication within all team members.
· Ensures operation of equipment
· Provide care for and treats patients while in the infusion center, as directed by the provider.
· Prepares patient for infusion including patient assessment and follows clinical pathways, preparation of infusible product and administration of product per clinical protocols.
· Maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient.
· Cleans infusion rooms as needed daily.
· Stocks infusion area, including rooms and infusion start up area
· Venipuncture
· Administers injections as ordered by physician/PA/ NP. Coordinates specialty lab draws.
· Vital signs according to infusion protocol.
· Intake of each infusion patient to include, updating patients current medications, allergies, past medical history, recent visits to other physicians or hospital
· Patient education
· As part of a team, communicates any ideas or concerns and participates in problem solving when necessary.
· Assist co-workers when work is complete, time allowing and as directed by manager.
· Perform daily tasks in an efficient and professional manner.
· Performs related medical and non-medical tasks as directed by physician or manager.
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred. Registered nurse with valid nursing license in Colorado.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a registered nurse with one year of infusion.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. CRNI certification preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with patients, staff and community.
2. Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office(Excel, Word, and Access).
3. Professional verbal and written communication skills.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Standard office equipment, including, but not limited to computer, phone, fax, copier. Medical equipment to include vitals machine and infusion pump (Syringe, Volumetric), vital signs equipment, oxygen tanks and nebulizers.
