DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: 4892_IT Infrastructure Architect/IT Systems Engineer
Location: Greenville, SC 29607 United States
Duration: Long term Contractual project (Possibilities of extension)
pay : $70/hr - $75/hr
This role needs someone who is expert level in Power BI administration (not reporting) with mostly cloud and some on-premise. Will be administering Power BI within the cloud and company infrastructure. If they have expertise in infrastructure or Power BI administration in the cloud that would be ideal. Would need to know basic Window server infrastructure and have that knowledge and how to login to Azure. There are some technical requirements because they will still be managing the on-premise environment (it’s not growing) but will still be here before it moves to Cloud. Understanding IASS and .NET experience is also preferred. Will be interfacing with support team in India. This person will be the expertise if the India support team is struggling with an issue, they would be able to step in and guide them. This person would guide technical topics for the platform.
On-premise – Enterprise level with 65,000 Power BI users within the company that can access dashboards and reports. On premise – 12 separate environments that provide on-premise Power BI to all different regions of the world.
Must have: Need to have experience from midsize to large corporation (enterprise level business applications) – Top 1000 companies in the world would be ideal. Need to have global implementation experience. SQL and PowerShell experience is a must have and be intermediate level. Must be expert level in Power BI (this is not a report developer, this is a site administrator which is a completely different role). Ability to work with global process partners.
Must be onsite a minimum of 2 days a week (There are periods of the year where onsite requirement could be more than 2 days/week). There is no flexibility on this requirement.
Nice to have experience: Jira and Confluence to track activities (familiarity with these program), experience working in Kanban environment. Ability to work well with remote resources and guiding teams (with offshore providers for delivering services).
Normal hours: 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm. There may be instances they would need to address issues earlier in the morning. Might have to work on weekends or be available if needed. This would be less than 10%. Since this position will interface with partners globally could work off-hours from time to time.
I. Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position?
Serves as a technical, system integration and IT architecture subject matter expert and works with operations team, IT Architects, Systems Analysts and within the IT infrastructure technical team to design and build IT systems and platforms that exceed functional expectations consistent with the values of a premium global brand. Runs complex technical projects and ensures long-term requirements of systems management and planning. Owns the ultimate responsibility for the technical functionality of IT systems and platforms including servers, client applications, tests, key performance indicators and overall technical quality.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives.
Leads the planning, implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure solutions and platforms that perform to defined functional and operational expectations.
Delivers high-quality IT architectural systems and infrastructure designs with an eye for building the designed systems accounting for existing technical debt, any development bottlenecks and architecture initiatives to drive service delivery, optimize cost and support established business goals.
Establishes and maintains technical security architecture, availability, overall performance and maintenance activities.
Communicates and accurately documents all architectural decisions, plans, goals and functional requirements.
Serves as the IT architect and technical lead for service delivery of the scope of the built system by designing, reviewing and overseeing implementation of end-to-end integrated systems, enterprise data and metadata structures, as well as internal systems such as product deployment and licensing.
Contributes to the definition of the product strategy and BI Target Enterprise Architecture by collaborating with other technical leads, project managers, business relationship managers and business analysts on a project team and across the organization.
Identifies and proposes new BI ETA standards (products, master solutions and services).
Ensures high quality by establishing a baseline and monitors technical metrics (i.e. code coverage, performance, scalability) that report the overall health of newly built IT systems.
Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. Stays up to date on future innovations, technical trends and applies this to direct future changes. Has knowledge of the solutions available as well as best practices for the business processes.
Runs complex projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with only general direction from management.
Serves as an IT project manager for small-medium sized projects overseeing resources assigned, conducts status meetings, and effectively communicates the project status to stakeholders as delegated by the Client Department Manager (Information Technology).
Develops project plans, administers the release management process and ensures that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Participates in Client Group IT projects.
Performs other duties as assigned by client Group Supervisor.
III. Position Competencies:
A) Education: BS degree (IT field preferred) or the equivalent of 4 years of related experience in Information Technology.
