JOB SUMMARY: Your Flight Plan!
The Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing the group exercise and personal training department’s staff and helping develop policies and procedures throughout the fitness department. They will lead the staff to provide a sustainable level of excellence in character, customer service and execution of job duties. Develop various fitness programs and incentives to continue to increase department revenue. Establishes, monitors, and analyzes the group exercise and personal training budgets. Maintains regular fitness floor equipment inspections/checklists and processes repair orders as needed. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the entire department. Conducts departmental meetings and acts as a liaison for residents, guests, and staff regarding group exercise and personal training matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Ready to Fly!
- Develops and incorporates the following components into the fitness program: adult & teen orientation procedures, nutrition information/counseling, weight training, fitness assessments, and youth fitness.
- Coordinates and maintains the proper certification of all fitness personnel.
- Supervises specialized fitness programs in the department.
- Evaluates program effectiveness and success based on revenues, participation, satisfaction, and further interest.
- This position supervises the fitness department.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The Wingspan Needed!
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
- 3 years of Fitness/Management Experience
- Nationally accredited Personal Trainer Certification
- Occasional travel may be required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Our Nest is your Nest!
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, Climbing, balancing, stooping and crouching.
- The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 200 pounds.
- This job operates in a gym and in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and standard gym equipment, like weights, weight machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines and other similar machines.
