Job Description
Are you looking to expand your research experience and help the Veteran population? Our research group is looking for a data analyst to help build and analyze healthcare claims datasets, with a focus on mental health treatment at the VA. Our research primarily uses large datasets to characterize the delivery and clinical effectiveness of treatments for PTSD and suicidal behavior through federally-funded research grants. This is a temporary position dependent upon funding.
Job Responsibilities
In this position, you will be expected to:
· Build and prepare analytic files using SAS programming
· Interpret output for reporting
· Aid in manuscript preparation
· Maintain organized notes to ensure reproducibility of results
Required Skills:
· Graduate degree or working towards a graduate degree in a discipline grounded in scientific method and data analysis (e.g. public health, data science, epidemiology, or statistics)
· Proficiency with SQL, R, or SAS
· Knowledge and understanding of statistical and/or epidemiologic methods
· Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Other Requirements:
· U.S. Citizen
Preferred Skills:
· Familiarity with R, Python, and STATA
· Experience preparing and submitting manuscripts
· Familiarity with analysis of large healthcare claims datasets (i.e., CMS, VA, or private insurance)

Pay: From $62,024.00 per year
