Summary
Designs experiments, prepares graphs and manuscripts involving scientific data. Carries out a high fat diet induced obesity model, and maintains mouse colonies and records. Performs metabolic testing (glucose and insulin tolerance tests and insulin signaling studies). Harvests, isolates and collects murine cells and tissues and establishes primary cell cultures. Performs western blotting, qPCR and ELISAs and carries out gene regulation studies. Performs confocal microscopy, immunoprecipitation and density gradient studies. Performs FACS analysis and cell sorting. May perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in related field. 1 year of related experience highly preferred. Must have experience with Western blotting, qPCR, ELISAs, molecular biology techniques, primary cell culture, FACS analysis, animal models, organ and cell isolation, and manipulation of excel spread sheets.
