Senior BI Analyst

As the Senior BI Analyst you will be responsible for enhancing VGW's BI maturity level to a proactive level by leading the creation of assets to be used as building blocks for the new BI framework and promote the Business Intelligence policies and procedures across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Support the creation of the new target state framework and governance for end-to-end reporting, tooling integration and self-service BI products. 
• Lead the maintenance and further development of VGW’s reporting taxonomy.
• Contribute to the development and rollout strategy to migrate and retrofit existing reports to the new BI framework.
• Document and understand use cases of existing reporting tooling and map them to fit the new target state.
• Work with reporting tool representatives to create and maintain high standards for preferred policies and procedures
• Support the adoption and establishment of the governance framework for VGW’s Data Catalog, Alation
• Develop and optimise complex SQL-based procedures to maintain efficient use of data sources and reporting tools.
• Create and maintain business intelligence and in-house knowledge of VGW’s BI’s policies and processes.
• Design, implement, and maintain self-service dashboards in Tableau
• Conduct quality assurance on dashboards and reports

What you will bring to the role:

• A Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Engineering, Data Science or Artificial Intelligence 
• Be a data-driven player in structuring an optimised plan of action to deliver comprehensive BI solutions across growth and profit initiatives 
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to create and review queries 
• 5 years experience as a BI Analyst
• Certification in Tableau (preferred)
• Experience with Alation, JIRA, and Github (preferred) 
• Has worked closely and developed strong relationships with a variety of senior level business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and implemented 
• Experience leading BI analysts, data analysts, and/or cross-functional teams
•  Problem-solving skills to identify pain points and recurring concerns
