ABOUT THE POSITION
HR Director, Business Partner
VHB is seeking a talented Human Resources Director to join our People Culture team. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with Human Resources, Learning & Development, Communication, and Design professionals to support the needs of our people. This role will be responsible for strategically planning and executing HR initiatives across the Southeast region, based in our Orlando, Florida office. We offer a hybrid work environment with 50% of the time spent in the office and periodic travel to Atlanta and the Gulf Coast.
This is an exciting opportunity to work and grow within a diverse team, gaining exposure to a wide variety of projects within our People Culture department.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Southeast leadership team to understand business needs and proactively identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities and talent.
- Provide guidance and leadership within the region, assisting with talent management-related issues, employee relations matters, conflict resolution, performance management, and leadership development.
- Coach employees and managers on complex and sensitive employee relations issues.
- Lead planning, direction, and delivery of HR programs, including onboarding, career development, training, performance management, succession planning, and compensation.
- Utilize internal employee data, metrics, and trends to create and measure HR goals and objectives.
- Provide compensation guidance and analysis, leading compensation programs for the region.
- Manage complex and/or escalated employment issues, overseeing effective, thorough, and objective investigations, as well as mediating escalated matters and facilitating resolutions.
- Identify training needs and partner with the Learning & Development team to deliver successful training programs.
- Stay current on HR trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, partnering with Legal and business leaders as needed to ensure regulatory compliance and risk reduction.
- Participate in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.
- Perform all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of human resources experience.
- 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in an AEC firm preferred.
- HR Certification preferred.
