What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Utility Locate Coordinator position at Viaero Wireless?
Viaero Fiber Networks is looking for an Assistant Fiber Utility Locate Coordinator for a fast paced and growing Utility department. As an Assistant, you will need to be very detail oriented and organized. We work as a team to protect our growing network and you will work closely with other office staff as well as many Technicians out in the field. This position holds office duties although may require some work to be completed out in the field.
What you will be doing
- Data entry of Locate tickets from CO, NE, SD, and KS through the different Utility 811 systems.
- Reviewing and Dispatching locate tickets to Technicians in specific regions.
- Learning multiple states Utility 811 positive response systems and their types of locate tickets.
- Learning what each type of ticket requires within each state 811 system.
- Review and Enter positive response details into the various systems for each state for the locate tickets.
- Learn how to operator and complete utility locates and complete construction contractor protection standby’s.
- Learn how to review, add to and update network maps in the 811 systems as the network continues to expand.
- Read and understand project plans and construction drawings for Engineering requests.
- Be able to verify running lines out in the field to assist with Engineering request.
- Call in locates when needed for our in-house construction crew.
- Call in locates when needed for engineering purposes.
- Assist with Restoration and upgrade projects.
- Assist with field and computer training of new and existing locate Technicians.
- Share the 24/7/365 on-call requirements of protecting our network.
What we are looking for
- High School diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass pre-employment checks including motor vehicle record, background and substance screen
- Administrative or clerical experience preferred
- Computer experience in Word, Excel, Google Docs/sheets, and Web based applications.
- Strong communication skills through phone and email.
