As the Shipping Clerk, your Duties and Responsibilities will be:
- Observes safety procedures, rules, regulations, and state, federal, and local laws in the performance of job duties
- Prepare finished product for shipment, up to and including pulling parts from stock locations, verifying part numbers and serial numbers, packaging the parts using appropriate packaging methods and labeling as required
- Responsible for scheduling shipments with the specified carrier
- Completion of accurate computer transactions as required
- Create packing slips
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation
- Ensure punctual, reliable, and acceptable attendance
- Perform other duties as required
As the Shipping Clerk, your Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge should be:
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English
- General mechanical and technical aptitude skills are preferred
- Must be skilled at completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole number common fractions or decimals
- Participate in a team-based culture and Lean Enterprise initiatives, including the 6S program
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and work successfully with minimal supervision
- Must be computer proficient
- Knowledge of specific shipping/logistics programs helpful
- Must be able to maintain records of material, supplies, time, and work performed and understand and use work instructions
