Part-time Security Officer

Security OfficerSynopsis of Role * **To provide a safe and secure environment by patrolling the church facilities, exercising access control to the buildings when required, protecting persons and property, and monitoring CCTV.Principal Responsibilities

• Provide security at all Victory venues and events (patrol/monitor facility regularly)
• Assess offenders and respond appropriately (apprehend, detain and/or trespass from property)
• Relate and communicate with the public, staff, volunteers and local law enforcement
• Maintain excellent physical condition (ability to pass a physical agility test)
• Address general inquiries, facilitate entrance to facility and provide assistance to people in need
• Write detailed incident reports/shift logs and turn in all required paperwork by the end of the work day
• Possess ethical attributes/behaviors that reflect favorably on Christianity and Victory

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

21 years of age or older; High School Diploma or GED; 6 months of full-time security experience, including contact with the public.

Unique Skills & Knowledge

Personable and observant; Excellent problem-solving skills; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Trained in first aid; Understand NRS, City of Las Vegas and Clark County statutes pertaining to Use of Force, Detainment of individuals for trespass and prowling.

Problem Solving & Decision Making

Present facts in an organized manner; Provide detailed description of possible solutions; Positive attitude & approach to problem solving; Make objective decisions which benefit the church;

Effectively balance the attributes of grace and discernment in decision making

Pastor, congregation, staff, volunteers and public safety officials

Physical Demands

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $8.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Security Guards: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
