POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Manager II has overall responsibility for Vigor Works Quality Assurance/Quality Control and oversees all quality related functions to ensure product compliance. This position provides leadership and direction within the Complex Fabrication Division, establishing a coherent quality strategy that is consistent with strategic business objectives and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities)
- · Mentor and provide leadership to divisional quality management teams (Aerospace, Nuclear, Commercial and Marine) to ensure Quality Assurance Systems and Quality Control functions are supported and maintained
- · Partner with Quality System Services (QSS) personnel in the sustainment of Quality Systems (Authoring and internal audits of Manuals and Processes), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), Process Improvement, Training and NDE Level III Services
- · Partner with sales team in the review of quality requirements and development of pricing for bid proposals
- · Partner with department leads to ensure the effectiveness of quality programs essential to the work environment
- · Assist with program implementation, and changes as needed by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including nonconformance reporting, and quarterly executive reporting.
- · Proactively plan Quality Management System related activities to ensure audit compliance
- · Support all relevant quality management system activities, including internal, external or customer audits, reporting of nonconforming product or processes, validation of quality record data, corrective and preventative actions.
- · Review and approve procedures, oversee customer/registrar audit operations and projects to assure compliance to regulatory, customer and company requirements
- · Participate in the weekly Corrective Action Review Group (CARG) and present to Corrective Action Team (CAT) on a monthly basis
- · Prepare quarterly and annual reports, review trend analysis for continuous improvement
- · Actively manage overhead and project budget for Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions
- · Advise executive management in resolution of quality concerns and correction of deficiencies
- Recognize, report and work to resolve safety issues to maintain a work environment that adheres to workplace safety standards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is responsible for managing the Quality group within the Marine Division.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- The ability to apply critical thinking while scheduling activities, resolving problems, performing root-cause analysis and measuring quality performance throughout each project the organization may be producing.
- Computer Skills -- Mastery of MS Office, Adobe and other job related software.
- Recognize and resolve unsafe working conditions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field from an accredited college (preferred).
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in quality assurance
- Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting. The person may be required to be in production areas at times. They must be able to walk to and from job sites. There may be local travel up to 10% of the time and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.

- While in production areas will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.
