Controller

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller is a senior-level financial management professional responsible for overseeing a company's financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial information. They are typically responsible for managing accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.

Principal Responsibilities

• Overseeing the company's financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting
• Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Maintain the company's chart of accounts, accounting policies and procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Prepare and present financial statements to senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders
• Develop and monitor the company's annual budget and forecasting processes
• Monitor cash flow and manage the company's banking relationships
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including the preparation and filing of tax returns
• Manage relationships with external auditors and provide support during the audit process
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Oversee the company's inventory management

Minimal Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification required
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP and IFRS Experience managing accounting and finance teams
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and cash flow management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency with Excel and other financial analysis tools
