As a Cook at Villa Restaurant Group, you will play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes for our Guests, following established recipes and maintaining food safety standards. You will work as part of a culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
What You’ll Do:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion sizes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Recipe Adherence: Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistent food quality, taste, and appearance.
- Food Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food storage, handling, and temperature maintenance.
- Station Setup: Set up and organize workstations with all necessary ingredients, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Cooking Techniques: Utilize various cooking methods, such as grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and broiling, to prepare dishes to order.
- Quality Control: Inspect food products for quality, freshness, and taste to maintain high culinary standards.
- Timing: Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and served promptly and simultaneously.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper cleaning of cooking equipment and utensils.
- Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items, daily specials, and any allergen information to assist Guests with menu choices.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, and fellow cooks, to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with Team Members and front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and efficient order preparation.
What You’ll Need:
- Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, including knife skills, food preparation, and cooking methods.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and a willingness to assist fellow kitchen staff.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment for extended periods.
- Lifting and carrying heavy pots, pans, and trays.
- Bending, stooping, and reaching.
