Job Summary

 Assist in the long-term retention of memberships by adding valuable social, service and tennis activities to integrate new members and the continuing participation of existing members in the Village Tennis program.

Summary Of Essential Functions:

  • Develop annual schedule of Tennis Leagues member social events, and other activities deemed necessary to increase department revenue and retention
  • Develop an operating budget for Showing the ROI of paid tennis events. Assist to meet or exceed the Tennis Department monthly and annual budget
  • Weekday tennis leagues - Accept sign ups, integrate into league line ups, assign to courts and be present at leagues when possible
  • Work with Membership Office, Membership Integration and Tennis Director to set up lessons and / or programs and matches with new members or members new to tennis Assist Tennis Director with responding to emails and voicemails from members that need information involving tennis
  • Assist Tennis Director with imputing monthly programming
  • Help Tennis Director and / or Tennis League Coordinator to find subs for league players when necessary
  • Organize and operate mixers. Requirement is a minimum of 1 per month
  • Order business cards and schedule headshots for new tennis employees
  • Work with Membership Integration to help all new members get involved with leagues, events, lessons or tournaments Assist Head Pro with organization and operation of Saturday and Sunday Men’s leagues
  • Organize and Operate any events held on the tennis courts or involving the tennis community
  • Participates in quarterly member events
  • Organize and operate mixers. Requirement is a minimum of 1 per month
  • Order business cards and schedule headshots for new tennis employees
  • Work with Marketing As needed for all collateral to advertise any tennis events
  • Attract and Retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service
  • Participates in the Manager on Duty

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational management OR equivalent years of experience   
  • Must have experience in planning and executing events with at least 30 plus participants
  • Basic knowledge of tennis rules, etiquette, and rankings necessary
  • Dedication to providing new and exciting activities for our members.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected
  • Ability to effectively delegate
  • Strong team building skills including ability to lead, train, cooperate and contribute as part of a team
  • Committed to learning, personal growth, and continual process improvement
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrate initiative to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
  • Willing to "roll-up" sleeves and dig in with staff to drive processes that support the business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint) and Outlook    
  • Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training   
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check 

Required Abilities

Physical Activity

This position requires some standing, walking, lifting, grasping, bending, and kneeling for

filing. Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Expressing or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.

 Physical Requirement

Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time. Walking and standing are required daily.  position requires heavy physical; Employee may also be required to aid in moving tables, chairs, and miscellaneous equipment up to 50 pounds. In addition, engaging in Fitness activities that require physical activity such as running.

 Visual Requirement

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing computer monitors and extensive reading.

 Working Conditions 

It involves typical office or administrative work and member outdoor activity
