Independent Marketing Contractor
Compensation: $20 per hour DOQ
Not to Exceed 10 hours per week - 78 week maximum
Reports to the Village of Hinckley Planning Commission
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage the HinckleyHub.org website. Update content and add promotional pictures and/or copy for all village businesses and major events
2. Develop and execute a marketing plan to expand customers for Hinckley businesses and attendance at major events in the village
3. Coordinate with the Hinckley Business Association in establishing a relationship with businesses and support for continuing the internship
4. Identify major community events and assist organizers on their marketing plan
5. Establish a relationship and provide local information to area Chambers of Commerce, visitor bureaus and commercial media
6. Identify contacts in surrounding communities and incorporate their major events in Hinckley marketing
7. Develop a promotional flier for Hinckley and its events
8. Provide a monthly report of accomplishments and activities at Planning Commission meetings
Skills and Experience
1. Proficient in editing websites ( Hinckleyhub.org) and use of social media
2. Degree or coursework in a field of marketing and/or communications
3. Excellent interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently and travel to Hinckley as necessary
5. Ability to create a marketing flier
6. Previous marketing experience preferred
Requirements
1. Work from your home and attend meetings in Hinckley as required
2. Meet with local businesses, organizations and the Planning Commission as necessary
