The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (12,590 2010 census) is seeking a responsible and energetic individual to assist the Finance Department to serve as the Finance Intern. The Finance Intern is responsible for assisting Finance Department staff in administering vehicle stickers, water billing, and general transactions with the Village. This position serves under the direction of the Finance Director. Excellent oral/written communication skills are required.
The candidate must be working towards a Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working for a Village or Finance Department is preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and abilities: ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously, ability to use a variety of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel ability to proofread, photocopy, collate, sort, file, and prepare documents for mailing.
The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.80.This position is classified as a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt, non-union position. All applicants must be able to work 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The expected timeframe for the position is May through August.
