What are the responsibilities and job description for the Culinary Aide position at Vincentian Regency?
Summary:
The Culinary Aide prepares, serves and delivers food within the facility according to established policies and procedures. Responsible for cleaning the food service areas and equipment. Assures proper storage of food and other products. Acts as cashier as assigned.
It is the duty of all employees to promote and support a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Commits to the Vincentian mission to nurture and sustain a ministry of compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of persons within a diverse and changing society.
2. Upholds and promotes the Vincentian values of spirituality, compassion, quality, dignity, collaboration, advocacy and stewardship.
3. Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity.
4. Adheres to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures.
5. Works with the facility staff as it relates to resident food services.
6. Assists with meal preparation.
7. Serves food according to established menu.
8. Prepares dining room prior to each meal.
9. Delivers and picks up food carts in a timely manner.
10. Acts in compliance with federal and state sanitary regulations as well as facility infection control guidelines and dietary policies and procedures.
11. Assists with storage and inventory of food supply and cleanliness of storage areas.
12. Attends in-service training sessions as assigned.
13. Maintains a clean and hazard-free work areas.
14. Participates in department/facility meetings, as required.
15. Serves meals on a timely basis.
16. Assists Cook in preparing meals.
17. Distributes and collects menus as necessary.
18. Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures in accordance with Department of Health and facility standards.
19. Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
20. Follows established Infection Control Precautions.
21. Performs all other duties assigned.
22. Required to support the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and Compliance Program by timely reporting any actual or suspected compliance, fraud and abuse, ethics or policy violations.
Education/Experience:
1. Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions and perform simple mathematical calculations required.
2. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
3. Commercial or institutional food service experience preferred.
