BENEFITS SPECIALIST
VineBrook Homes is an internally managed real estate investment company, focused on acquiring, renovating, leasing and operating single-family homes as rental properties. An early investor and developer of the Single-Family Rental home (SFR) asset class, we commenced operations in late 2007. Our proven, yield-focused investment strategy targets a unique opportunity building a portfolio of workforce SFR assets in key secondary and tertiary markets. Our growing SFR REIT portfolio is currently comprised of approximately 21,000 homes. VineBrook Homes is undergoing a major expansion of its strategy, expecting to drive toward 25,000 homes.
Position Summary/Objective
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for performing Benefits and HR related duties on a professional level, working closely with the Director, Total Rewards. Oversees all daily benefits operations while researching new benefits options, which bring value to our overall benefits package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conducts monthly new hire benefit meetings and yearly open enrollment meetings
2. Oversees 5500 processing for all benefits
3. Propose additional benefit offerings based on market research
4. Maintains a working relationship with benefits broker and account reps for each benefit offering.
5. Completes benefit salesforce tickets
6. Reconciles and submits monthly benefit invoices
7. Run reports from HRIS system when needed
8. Completed medical VOE’s
9. Perform quarterly benefit audits
10. Manage Cobra outside administrator.
11. Updates all company benefits collateral as needed
12. Maintains Benefit information sections of SharePoint/UKG
13. Completes internal and external Benefits-related inquiries.
14. Process new hires and terms in Fidelity, audit feed
15. Maintains benefit enrollment records including entering new HSA deductions in HRIS
16. Assist with any current and future employee initiatives such as wellness programs
17. Assists with required reporting such as 401k audit and required benefit notices
18. Performs any other Benefit or HR related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, SKILLS, and Abilities)
1. Minimum 5 yrs Benefits Administration experience
2. Able to manage confidential information on a daily basis.
3. Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
4. Clear and concise communications (written and verbal)
5. Exemplary Customer Service skills
6. Strong problem-solving skills
7. Organizational skills
8. Time Management skills
9. Ethical Conduct
