Position Responsibilities: Brand & Line Management Main activities: - Defines key elements (pricing, sales strategy, communication strategy, etc.) of the 3 year marketing plan in relation to the brand product positioning. - Identify potential new markets for expansion of existing or creation of new product lines. - Introduce new products to the marketplace. - Identify and target weak areas of current product lines for the purpose of introducing new items to bolster current category sales. - Completes year-end projections and suggests ways in which brand portfolio can evolve over 3 years with relevant tactics. - Reviews, edits and approves all materials according to specific market, regulatory or customer requirements before going to market. - Leads in the development of marketing and sales support materials specific to brand products in a timely fashion. - Implements US business objectives and strategies into product objectives and strategies and develops plans to facilitate business growth. - Leads the development and implementation of annual product marketing plans. - Develops marketing campaigns based on knowledge of product portfolio, market segments, profitability expectations, product cost and market conditions. - Proposes plans for lifecycle management of product line as well as plans to rationalize the product portfolio where appropriate. Expected results: Achieve optimal profit contribution for brand line by managing the balance between volume, price and marketing expenses. Resource Planning & Execution Main activities: - Establish a 3-year marketing plan and sets direction for product category. - Produces Product demand and revenue forecasts. - Monitor inventory levels and backorder status of key products. - Performs duty as member of brand marketing team in a competent, commercially astute and dedicated manner. - Provides the data to prepare, update, and control sales forecasts for existing and new products. Validates and consolidates sales forecasts. - Identifies the impact of key external market and competitive developments and trends as it relates to the business and brand lines. - Develops marketing plans, sales strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity that clearly define objectives, goals, schedules and action assignments. - Works with their Director of Marketing to plan product operating budget and develop regional and national sales campaigns. - Works with agencies in development of media plans. - Assist in development of regulatory submissions. - Track monthly P&L, expenses, and other necessary accounts. - Assist in development of distribution policies. - Proven excellence in strategic thinking. - Proficient in issue-framing and analytical skills. - Demonstrates ability to coordinate a high level of marketing activity under a variety of conditions and constraints. Expected results: Provides hands-on management of brand marketing and sales plans and assisting in projects when necessary to achieve results. Customer Focus Main activities: - Provide information and materials for external customers and technical support. - Work with advertising agency and internal resources to create technical and promotional support materials for use by end-users and the Sales team. Ensures that customers segments are identified, properly targeted, and resources are deployed appropriately specific to brand responsibilities. Identifies customers’ expectations utilizing pertinent market research/Business reports, studies and seeks to improve the brand offerings and services to satisfy present and future needs. Travels in Field to experience and support understanding of marketing campaigns. Works with E-Marketing Manager to expand and utilize marketing databases to target business opportunities. Utilizes knowledge learned from attendance at tradeshows to maximize ROI of major events. Expected results: Identify the right decision maker and develops customized programs with specific metrics, measures outcomes, and develops contingency plans when/if necessary. Communication Main activities: - Responsible for internal and external communications within the US on brand marketing related information. - Manage day-to-day activities with agencies specific to brand. - Ensure integration of product marketing function with others within marketing group, sales, technical services, manufacturing, regulatory et. - Interacts with market development manager to increase our public relations efforts. - Develops business and market share updates and presents results to Director of Marketing and President of Commercial Operations where appropriate. - Communicates product strategy and manages product messaging, sales goals and campaign performance proactively communicating with sales, sales leadership and technology services. - Ability to present business materials/issues in a concise and professional manner to corporate personnel. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Expected results: Position Virbac as a trusted company for veterinarians and brand as brand of choice for veterinarians. Position Requirements: Education Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in sales and marketing, business, or a similar field, or equivalent experience. An Advanced degree is a plus. Experience 3 years of marketing experience. Animal Health industry preferred, but related and non-related areas will be considered CRM experience related to customer segmentation preferred. Experience with digital media and internet advertising. Skills An entrepreneurial self-starter with hands-on approach. Must have strong presentation skills, ability to develop and articulate a compelling and professional position to Senior Managers and Executive Team. Direct reporting to Director of Marketing, Proven excellent strategic thinking, issue-framing and analytical skills. Ability to apply creative thinking in identifying opportunities and program implementation. Results and action oriented, comfortable making independent decisions. Innovative and strategic thinker with analytical problem solving skills. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage all aspects of ongoing product management, including product design and pricing, competitive positioning, performance, and cost effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of marketing activity under a variety of conditions and constraints. Thorough command of sales techniques.
