Summary:
The School of Pharmacy (SOP) invites you to apply for the position of Graduate Program Coordinator.
The Graduate Program Coordinator will coordinate the administration of advanced degree (graduate) programs based in the School of Pharmacy; provide liaisonship between students, faculty, departments and programs with the Office of Research and Graduate Studies and institutional offices (e.g. Graduate School, University Enrollment Services, Global Education Office) involved in the recruitment, admission, enrollment, achievement of performance standards and completion of degree requirements; and maintain student records related to the same.
Responsibilities:
The Graduate Program Coordinator will assist in the development, communication and implementation of policy and practice related to the conduct of graduate programs; provide guidance as to policy and practice to other staff; and participate in grants application submissions for the School of Pharmacy. The position will coordinate student orientation and training, in addition to special programs related to advanced degree education; and plan and implement major research and graduate study events within the School of Pharmacy. The Graduate Program Coordinator will also provide administrative support in the Office of Research and Graduate Studies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
- Understanding and/or experience with institutional protocols and procedures related to graduate programs (e.g. admissions, enrollment, registration degree completion, managing student files, graduate student funding, etc.)
- Familiarity with School of Pharmacy and VCU policy as related to graduate programs
- Competency in administrative support, use of Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with systems such as GradTrack
- Good interpersonal relationship skills related to management of interactions with students, faculty, superiors and other relevant institutional offices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in graduate studies
- VCU Sponsored Projects Administration Certification
- Experience with records management and event planning
- Familiarity with the grant submission process
Salary Range: $45,000-$52,000
