Virta is in the process of growing at a rapid pace and is in need of a talented individual to join the lean finance team and help keep pace with the company’s growth. You will have an immediate impact by helping to create month-end close processes and helping to develop accounting policies. This role will work on various financial statement areas and projects and have exposure to various other teams at Virta.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, analyses and financial statement account reconciliations
  • Help create, implement and maintain month-end close processes, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations with a goal of significantly decreasing month-end close timeline within 12 months.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare and review accounts receivable aging analyses in conjunction with the revenue cycle management team
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and assist with reconciliations between GAAP financial statements, Deal financial statements and forecasts (as prepared by the Financial Planning & Analysis team)
  • Respond to information requests and assist with audits
  • Work with the FP&A team on internal financial reporting, including budget versus actual analyses and other reporting as required
  • Assist with project management functions
  • Assist with special projects  and ad hoc requests

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Take ownership of preparing financial statement areas including, but not limited to, balance sheet areas such as cash, prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
  • Establish strong working relationships cross functionally
  • Learn how to use Virta’s accounting tools efficiently
  • Learn about Virta’s product offerings and how the business works

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 1 year of experience
  • CPA license (preferred) 
  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements/reports
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Highly organized and detail oriented

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Security and privacy training will be provided.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. Virta has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
