About The Opportunity
As a PTA, you will play a vital role in assisting licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) in delivering exceptional care to patients recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries. You will work collaboratively with the PTs to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations under the supervision of a PT, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and measuring range of motion and strength.
- Assist PTs in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that incorporate manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and other interventions.
- Educate and instruct patients on proper exercise techniques, home exercise programs, and the use of assistive devices.
- Motivate and encourage patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining detailed treatment records.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- May assist with clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient files.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in physical therapy through continuing education.
- An associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current Oklahoma state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a physical therapy setting (preferred).
- Strong clinical skills in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, and gait training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in documentation and medical record keeping.
