Job Description
Visa’s Global & North America Fintech Partnerships organization is responsible for managing the strategic partnerships and initiatives to advance the company’s innovation agenda. The portfolio of partners includes global financial technology companies and other non-financial institutions with strong presence in the North American market.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for serving as a global account executive and identifying and implementing partnership opportunities for clients in the Crypto and Emerging Fintech segments. The role requires an experienced partnerships and business development professional with strong product solutioning background who can identify potential deals and renew agreements, as well as develop the tactics and influence the teams needed to bring them to fruition. The Global & NA Fintech Partnerships team works closely with regional Fintech Partnerships counterparts, Visa's product and specialized sales teams, as well as other stakeholders such as Risk, Legal, Finance, and Marketing to manage the partners’ needs while selling value-added services and executing partnership agreements that are typically complex, strategic, and cross-functional in nature.
Segment Expertise:
Support the Fintech Partnerships and Innovation executive team in developing the overall group strategy, with a focus on Crypto and other emerging fintech categories
Identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segment and customer's business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms
Continuously review market landscape, identifying developing partnership or investment opportunities that will position Visa as the market leader
Account Management:
Lead the relationship management and account sales development plans for these partnerships, meeting client business objectives
Align the cross-functional teams on key proposals including representation from Finance, Legal, Marketing, Product, Operations, Market Research and Technology
Support the development, negotiation, and signing of proposals by collaborating with various internal stakeholders and relationships with strategic partner executives
Work with the innovation team as needed to recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to helping clients grow
Risk Solutioning:
Work closely with Visa Risk Advisors, as well as Visa Acceptance Solutions product and sales teams, to address opportunities to improve partners’ fraud risk and authorization performance
Drive opportunities to closure with Specialized Sales, Risk, Legal, and Finance counterparts, overseeing solution integration and maintaining product enhancement feedback loop
Execution:
Work with cross functional teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan
Collaborate with team to solve the problems that arise during the execution of programs with partners
Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship, and direction of the business
Communication:
Report on the status of the partnership progress
Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization
Proactively educate the Visa organization on market developments and notable partnership opportunities
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
