The Director of Market Strategy, North America Product, will play a critical role in bringing best-in-class products and solutions to the North America region that support a wide variety of Visa’s clients, including our merchant, issuing and processing partners. Reporting to the Head of North America Product Market Strategy, you will be a key player on the team responsible for crafting and spearheading an executable strategy to ensure that Visa’s products and solutions meet the needs of our diverse North America clients. From developing market assessments and product prioritization frameworks to conducting product-market fit analyses for emerging technologies and solutions, you will be a champion and the voice of our North America clients, ensuring that we design offerings that support and accelerate the growth of the payments ecosystem. You believe that products and solutions designed in partnership with our customers and for our customers are the true drivers of growth and innovation for Visa and our clients.
As a member of the North America GTM & Solutions team, Visa’s North America leadership team will rely on you to keep a pulse on the ever-evolving market needs and trends of the complex North America market. The role requires considerable cross-functional collaboration (engaging a wide variety of internal partners, including Global Product, Corporate Strategy, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships, Pricing, Legal and Government Relations), superb project and client management skills, ability to operate proactively in a highly ambiguous environment, and flexibility to respond to marketplace events in a complex and evolving industry. We’re looking for a creative strategist who can paint compelling stories with actionable, data-driven insights to inform critical business decisions that take Visa’s North America business to its next level.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate emerging product opportunities for applicability, need, and feasibility of execution in the North America region.
- Conduct product-market fit analysis by identifying relevant market & ecosystem dynamics, analyzing competitive landscape, defining value proposition & establishing product proof point criteria
- Define commercial & high-level go-to-market strategy to inform the business case, including development of multi-year revenue forecasts
- Support vetting of solution architecture to understand potential cross-product implications/impacts
- Drive execution of proof of concept
- Collaborate with Global Product to understand product development priorities, pipeline, and new product ideation
- Develop U.S. market strategy that aligns with Visa’s overall product strategy, regulatory response and emerging market trends. Proactively educate Visa organization on these internal and external developments
- Create and maintain North America product prioritization by mapping products to various market and product levers such as client needs, revenue goals, strategic priority, revenue goals, competitive positioning etc.
- Conduct research and develop thought leadership content on cross-product narrative, competitive landscape, and product positioning
- Bachelor's degree required. MBA from a top-tier institution preferred.
- 12 years’ experience in a product, financial services, or professional services (e.g. management consulting, investment banking) role. Payments experience a plus.
- Strong commercial acumen; understands the economics of client’s business and how our products impact a client’s P&L as well as the commercial drivers of Visa’s business
- Excellent project management skills and experience exercising informal authority in a large cross-functional team environment
- Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) acumen and attention to detail
- Curious and inquisitive, with a strong desire to get beyond the “what” and into the “why”
- Proactive and effective communicator, experienced in presenting information to all levels
- Self-starter who is comfortable in highly ambiguous environments
- Collaborative spirit and a knack for understanding stakeholder needs
