Job Description

The Risk Business Partner will be responsible for

  • Developing partnerships with key business stakeholders in Visa's Commercial Solutions organization to identify, mitigate, monitor and report on risks impacting their business and product lines.
  • Driving and embedding risk culture throughout the product organization to further evolve Product Risk oversight at Visa.
  • Ensure appropriate alignment with other Visa Policies, Frameworks, Processes and Procedures.
  • Working seamlessly with a wide group of internal customers in a way that engenders mutual respect and consideration for the other party's point of view and drawing out all viewpoints of teams.
  • Implementing Visa's Risk Management and Appetite Frameworks:
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and monitor risks of the entity by performing deep dive risk assessments on a business and risk prioritized basis.
    • Provide constructive challenge to business functions and make recommendations on risk controls or other actions required to drive risk mitigation.
    • Provide second line oversight of the development of mitigating controls for identified risks.
    • Liaise closely with Risk teams on centrally managed Risk programs, e.g., Supplier Risk Management, Compliance Risk Management, New Business Initiative Assessment, Risk and Control Self-Assessment.
    • Provide real-time, meaningful insights to develop and motivate business partners and team members.
  • Monitoring the risk profile of supported business organizations:
    • Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators to assist management in the early identification of risks and trends.
    • Maintain risk registers for risk aggregation.
    • Escalate risks to appropriate governance committees.
  • Providing reports on the entity's risk profile to business leaders and applicable governance committees highlighting risks that warrant the most attention.
    • Prepare materials, including keeping minutes, for risk review meetings with Risk and Business leaders.
    • Reporting as required to Operational Risk Sub-Committee (ORS) and Corporate Risk Committee (CRC).

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

The successful candidate must have

  • Proficiency in knowledge and understanding with applying risk management practices specifically as it relates to Enterprise and Operational Risk Management (e.g., risk appetite, risk assessment, scoring, mitigation, acceptance).
  • Ability to report risk summaries clearly and concisely.
  • Strong business acumen, understanding of the payments industry, payment products and services, and of the wider economic and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Visa's business strategy, its clients and their evolving requirements, with demonstrated problem-solving skills and excellent judgment.
  • Experience providing a comprehensive risk management point of view that helps inform business decisions (risk/reward tradeoff)
  • Track and record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed executive decision making.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • 5 Years of progressive risk or payment business management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (Finance, Economics or Business Field preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate views independently and negotiate effectively needing no more than limited guidance to determine key messages.
  • Ability to complete analytical research with little to no guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a continually changing environment.
  • Clear thinker with strong technical and data analysis skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships to drive mutually beneficial and lasting relationships based on clear vision and understanding of customer future.
  • Comfortable and confident working with all organizational levels.
  • Able to drive progress and decisions with limited oversight (e.g., escalations only).
  • Encourages decision making within teams by demonstrating confidence and trust.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint and a passion to grow utilizing new technologies.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,700.00 to 130,900.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
